{Makin' Stuff}

Tying up loose ends, finishing projects, starting others.

It feels good. Here's some of the latest ...

Christmas ribbon is stocked in the craft stores now. I was able to go buy what I needed to

finish the Christmas houses I made last month. I added tinsel to the rooftop and pom-pom

ribbon for ground level "snow". I sent one to Aidan and saved the other for gifting.

I knocked out a few cards, too. The "Oh, Baby" is a card I've made before. Why reinvent

the wheel, you know?

From baby cards to baby gifts we go. Some embroidery. I have these adorable but unruly

iron-on patterns that were on fabulous clearance for a reason -- they don't stick to the fabric!

But they're cute and look great on a onesie. So, I make them work. I stitched this crabby crab

by hand, referring to the pattern as a separate piece of paper. Meaning, it took a long time to

stitch this and was mildly frustrating to make. But I think my wobbly 'lil crab is cute, and I'm

glad I stuck with him. :)

Photo scanning. I'm collecting family photos for an album I have planned. I received another

batch of about 100 photos and scanned them. I'm still waiting on a few more, but I'm going

to start printing photos and making pages in October. I started planning and collecting for

this in June. So, I'm thrilled to be making some progress with it.


And I decorated for Halloween!! Love it. Love it. Love it. I basically put things in the same

place as last year. I added one or two twists, mostly to accommodate for changes we made

with the furniture. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything new this year -- at least not

until things go on sale at the end of the season. (Such impressive restraint, right?) I'm

happy to have it all up early ... more time to enjoy it.

I'm off to get ready for a much needed date with my husband tonight!!
