{Early Morning + The Kids = Nice}

We got lucky this year. The high summer temperatures really held off way longer than
normal, and we had an honest to goodness spring! It was awesome. Even now as it's
starting to heat up, the nights and mornings are still comfortable -- in the low 70s
instead of lows 90s like it will be soon.

So, I've been trying to make sure the dogs get some time outside in the morning. It's a
great way for them to start the day, especially on days they take walks with me or go
on runs with D. I find I am likely to wander out there with them with my coffee for a
few minutes. It's very peaceful out there with the birds singing and the soft air. The
day is new, fresh and untouched.

These two make for amazing company, no matter the weather or the time of day.
I love my babies, and I don't know what I'd do without them. (You too, Oliver!)
Last weekend was the anniversary of when Norah officially came home and joined
our family. I found myself getting a little extra sentimental and gushy inside about
our furry kids. I'm so thankful they're part of our family. They add so much to our
lives everyday.

This coming Sunday, David and I are going to training orientation at HALO Animal
Rescue so we can begin to volunteer with them. There are so many animals without
good homes and families to love them. So, I'm excited to offer a little of my over
flowing animal-love to help them out. It's a no-kill, non-profit shelter that actually
has vet techs on staff. The animals are well taken care of, from what I hear, but they
need volunteers to help maintain the rescue and to give all the animals some love and
attention. I'm looking forward to it, and I think it's so cool that David's going, too!

Awesome pictures of the kids. Really, they belong on a calendar, Hallmark card, or Purina ad. These are great!
