This oil spill and the crisis it has created is just too sad and wrong on so many levels.
I feel increasingly angry about this as the days tick on and the gallons pour out.
I fear we've compromised nature in a way from which it might not be able to
rebound. Not to mention the economic toll. Unfortunately, this is far from over.
Mother Nature, help us, even though we don't deserve it.

Makes me so sick and sad about the situation there, I don't know how the ocean is ever going to recover. I also feel like not enough is being done to get it figured out. These images of the dead animals make me bawl, I feel so helpless...
All those poor people who live there too who depend on tourism and the ocean for their livelihood. I pray this can be stopped and cleaned up before the earth is destroyed
Very Very Very SAD - I was listening to the news and they were asking if BP would be able to recover from this and the analyst said - Well they have so much money! What about the nature?
I am convinced that Mother Nature is so upset with us that just look at the events the last 5 years, earthquakes, tsunamis and the list is long...I hope she doesn't decided to kick us out before we figure out how to preserve what she has given us...
I cant look at them for more than half a second and my heart breaks. I really want to go help clean them all up!!! POOR THINGS!!!! It makes me so sad...
These are so hard to look at. It's so sad and it's so hard for me to think of how we can recover from this.
This pisses me off so bad. I can't believe that with all the freakin technology in this world, no one can think of a fix for this. It disgusts me... I literally cannot watch the news as it just pumps out. Growing up next to the ocean, and then seeing this, literally breaks my heart. I fear it's far from over and I fear the repercussions from all this will be dire. If I were wealthy and could afford to not work (and I were single w/ no kids :), I would be down there volunteering to help the animals and do SOMETHING about the ocean. So so sad.
I agree Alejandra, the earth will give us some of the pain we are giving, nature never stays with crossed arms.
Life on earth is a tender balance between Mother Nature and humans. Mankind, in its selfishness, has never been kind to the earth, but Mother Nature seems to be forgiving with us and continues to nurture and heal itself.
How do you jump in your car everyday to run to the store or turn your air conditioning on for personal comfort, and find satisfaction with the way you live your life and what is going on in these photos? They are strange bedfellows, this life we live and the evolution of the earth.
We must learn to accept the inevitable. Accidents happen. However, this government of ours should have had things straightened up long before now. They are playing political games with our hearts and minds in order to take more control of those very same things.
Responsibility is a must. But BP and the government are not being responsible today. We should blame them both for the cruelty we see going on to our land, water and wildlife. How can they sleep at night?
