{Dad's Painting Project}

The upside to living where the weather is perfect nine
months out of the year -- ahem, aside from 345 days a
year of sunshine and never dealing with snow -- is we
have company almost monthly, it seems. And, because
one of our regulars is Art, a man who loves to have a project
while we're at work and school -- he can paint in the
middle of winter. Weather aside...

...He really is one of the nicest people ever. He's on vacation.
He's retired from over three decades of work. And he flies
all the way from Michigan to Arizona to paint our house.
If there is a heaven, I suspect he'll have a master suite!
It wouldn't have happened without him for at least a year.
We are so appreciative to him for everything he did (he
didn't stop at paint!).

Didn't take too many pictures in the past two weeks
(Busy with school and my internship, spent a week or
so being sick, etc.) But I did manage to do some
documenting . . .

New paint colors

We got a smokin' deal on paint through the Peningtons.
They are friends of ours who own Penington Paint --
Jerry does a lot of work with PCI (David's company).
Thanks, Jerry and Victoria!!

Let the painting begin

Before and after --
the tan and dark brown are the old colors.
The green to the left is the new paint for the body of the house.

Dad, hard at work

David was able to help on Sunday.

I snapped this while the boys were using the rollers.

Played with the color on it a bit.
I'm thinking of hanging this in the garage!

I smile when he smiles.

Sitting on the roof, painting the back of the turret.
How sexy are his legs? I know, right?!

Dad, in his broken in paint clothes.

Jen, this one is for you. : )

The last day. Wednesday evening, dad put things away
while D started installing the new outdoor lights we got.

We all stopped to see the sunset before heading in for
American Idol and dinner.

Thursday morning before dad left for the airport.

I think Norah knew it was the end of her grandpas visit.
These two totally bonded! It was cute.

We'll miss you dad. Can't wait to see you again soon.
And THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!

I'll post the finished product after we take care of a few
details outside -- lights, the last bit of trim, etc. So, stay tuned.

Awesome! Love the house colors!!!
(Thumbs up!) :o)
Thanks for the shout-out!
Can't wait to see the finished look.

Also, on the last post, how are Norah and Killian dealing with Oliver? I could see Norah getting along with OHL but Killian???? He doesn't seen to me the kind who would like a kitty running around his house.
