{Celebrating the 4th}

It was a nice, long holiday weekend ...

Visiting with friends
taking a day trip
seeing new places
trying new recipes
eating
napping
exercising
playing with our animal menagerie
accomplishing a few things around the house
taking photos
interacting with our community
getting sun
swimming
watching a movie
and lounging on the couch.

Ahhhh. Three day weekends and holidays that inspire are the best.

We took a detour on our way out of Prescott on Saturday, looking for a place to take a nap
in the grass and shade. That's when we found this gem -- water in AZ! -- called Watson Lake.
What a lovely place! I'd like to make time to kayak there when we go to Prescott next.

And then we found a fabulous spot to watch the fireworks on the fourth! We went to a newly
built park, at McQueen and Ocotillo in Chandler, that sits atop an old land fill. From up high,
we could see like ten different firework displays off in the distance. It turned out to be a
popular spot. We got there in plenty of time to find a quiet corner to enjoy the sounds and
sights of the fireworks bursting into the air.

And now it's back to routine and reality, such as it is. :)
