feeling for more than a week. :)
Actually, I have to. My triglycerides are double what they should be, and I've gained a few
(7.5!) pounds since December. Most of the clothes in my closet are too tight, and I don't
feel good in the ones that aren't. My ship is clearly pointed in the wrong direction, and it's
time to straighten the bow.
So, I set a goal for June to help get me get back on track. It's to get physical activity at least
five times a week for at least 30 minutes each time. This is just good living and something I
want to and should maintain. I have to develop some better habits. So, here it goes:
Day one -- Sunday the 31st:
Two and a half mile, 40 minute walk with the dogs along the canal in the morning.
Day two -- Tuesday the 1st:
A 40 minute evening bike ride! I went out when David and the dogs went running. So,
A 40 minute evening bike ride! I went out when David and the dogs went running. So,
we crossed paths along the canal a few times, and then we went for a swim together when
we all got home. My legs felt like jell-o for awhile afterwards. It was a good workout that
got my blood pumping. I felt energized the rest of the evening.
Day three -- Wednesday the 2nd:
Thirty minutes of yard work that made me sweat and increased my heart rate. I weed
whacked and mowed the lawn two ways, just like David likes. :) Then, I did 15 minutes of
floor exercises (combo of sit ups, push ups, yoga, pilates, and stretching) while my body
Brisk one hour early morning walk. It helps that David got up before me to go on a run with
the dogs. Knowing he was out there and having my exercise plan in mind, pushed me to roll
out of bed and into my walking shoes. It was fun to run into each other a few times. I was
back home by 6:30AM and ready for the day shortly afterwards.
Day five -- Saturday the 5th:
Did 30 minutes of cardio with a Jillian Michaels DVD -- Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. (I
Netflixed it!) What a workout. Then, I moved to the pool and did some laps (about eight)
and then held onto the stairs and did leg kicks for a couple minutes -- an extra ten minutes
of activity.
The goal: Physical activity five times a week for at least 30 minutes each time.
The outcome: Did my five times for a total of 225 minutes of solid activity. I feel great

good for you Sam! You look super cute in that 2nd pic! Miss you.
Check you out! You're off to a great start.
I need to find the motivation to start getting physical again too. I have gained like 15 lbs since last summer and I feel like crap about it yet my appetite has been out of control so I am eating more calories and burning less. I know what I need to do, I just need to do it. Thanks for the inspiration!
Jen, that's AWESOME!!! I am so proud of you. Hey, I can find time to work out, but I don't have two kids to take care of! I'm really proud of you. Thanks for sharing that. Also, I've totally thought about the photo thing, too. :) Not sure I can do it!
