{Newsmaker}

The word on the street is people like the stuff I've posted from
this semester better then last. Which would make sense, as in
theory, I should have learned some things between then and
now. I do have one more story to share from last fall though.
I thought you might like to see what I was working on then.
This story isn't perfect, but it got the most positive feedback
from my teacher and people in my class.

My goal was to weave together a few different people and places
into one story. Make it come full circle. (Which is not as easy to
do in two minutes as you might think.) My teacher had been
pushing us to work on that skill. The focus wasn't on my script
but rather shooting, editing and those transitions in the story.

The pacing is fast. That's another thing I like about it, but
David recently gave me some feedback that he doesn't like the
fast paced editing. He also didn't understand what I was trying
to achieve with my story. Maybe I didn't either. We did a lot
more this semester with writing and sticking to a focus while
putting your story together. Live and learn! Overall, I was
happy with this one.

CLICK HERE TO WATCH IT ON YouTube.
(Because of the way the video is formatted, it doesn't
fully fit on the screen when I post it to blogger.)

I would like to know how a video like this gets 31,654 views and
125 comments. Seriously?

I read your post, watched your video and then reread your post.
I totally got your story and how the three people were linked together; they're all artists of different skills or different levels. I like the faster pace but maybe not as fast. I think flashing the different views is nice b/c you can see more stuff related to the story, I get that but maybe D meant to slow down the flashing. (I'm sure "flashing" is not a technical term!)

Also, that other video is fucking scary! I didn't watch all of it. Maybe 15 seconds but it was enough for me! :o) HA!!!

Um, because the internet loves stupid and weird things, and that video pretty much covers both of those bases. I have a video up of my dog wearing shoes that has 26,718 views and 49 (I've deleted a few) comments. It satisfies the "Stupid" requirement quite well, apparently.

Hey, who was that chunky chick??? LOL! I'd forgotten how big that poor girl was!
Great story, I didn't think it was too fast at all, and I like how you tied the disparate threads of the story together...(that comment almost made me sound smart, huh? HAR!)
The only thing that would make watching that clip better would be to enjoy it while drinking some iced tea...I sure wish I knew how to make myself some!

Hahaha. I just showed that iced tea clip to M and he said "that guy has dead bodies in his house." Probably true. He should add "you could wrap up a couple of the bodies you have in your closet" while waiting for the tea to boil.
